Module 3: ‘Will I survive?’ Extinction Game
- Students will see how and why a plant becomes extinct, taking part in a real life simulation (role-play game).
- The expected outcome is an appreciation of the concept of extinction, its causes, the levels of threat to plants and the different impact of extinctions on a local or global scale.
- During the game, a number of common ‘events’ affect resource availability for plant species in an Alpine zone; survival will vary accordingly.
